Cat (BS expected 2018) is from Naples, FL and is currently studying materials science and engineering. She has previously worked on the development of silicon oxide thin films for plasma deposition on plastic medical containers and looks forward to continuing research on thin films by exploring grain growth and texture transformations in silver films. In her free time, Cat enjoys backpacking, rock climbing, SCUBA diving, and reading.

Lauren (BS expected 2018) is a junior in Materials Science and Engineering from Central New York. She is collaborating with Corning on simulation analysis to computationally examine deformation mechanisms in silicate glasses. Outside of research, she sings and travels with the Cornell Chorus and is almost minoring in computer science.

Lauren (BS expected 2018) is a materials science and engineering undergraduate from Scotch Plains, New Jersey. She is working on a project studying plastic deformation of silicate glasses, and is interested in questioning what we think we know about glass. Outside of the lab she is the Outreach Director of Cornell's section of the Society of Women Engineers, and is also a soprano in the Cornell Chorus.

Kenny (BS expected 2019) is from Purcellville, VA and is currently studying materials science and engineering at Cornell University. Previously he has studied Physics and Chemistry at James Madison University (JMU) as well as materials science at Jesus College, Oxford University. In past research Kenny has explored the electrical, thermal, and optical properties of the conductive polymer PEDOT:PSS at JMU. Currently he is constructing a temperature controlled stage for the electron beam deposition of metal thin films onto silicon substrates. Kenny is also an Eagle Scout and thus in his free time enjoys a variety of outdoor activities such as snowboarding, SCUBA diving, spelunking, and camping.
