Shefford
P. Baker received MS (1988) and PhD (1993) degrees in Materials Science and
Engineering from Stanford University. From 1993 through 1997, he was a
member of the scientific staff at the Max-Planck-Institut für
Metallforschung in Stuttgart, Germany. Baker joined the faculty in the
Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Cornell in 1997. He
is also a member of the Fields of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, and Theoretical and Applied Mechanics at
Cornell. Baker is active in the Materials Research Society and was the President of that organization in 2009.
